As Account Director, you’ll be responsible for… 

  • Leading your team in the delivery of a wide range of projects, proactively driving projects forward and facilitating collaboration. 

  • Leading a client team comprising of client services and creatives, working closely with resourcing and finance to ensure delivery on time and on budget. 

  • Leading client meetings and briefing internal team members on expectations/requirements. 

  • Servicing multi-channel accounts - working with a digital project manager when needed. 

  • Building and owning client relationships based on trust and mutual respect. 

  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of the clients’ business. 

  • Supporting in developing and understanding client comms objectives and comms plans. 

  • Understanding the importance of strong risk management, being able to spot potential pitfalls and advise accordingly with a focus on solutions. 

  • Providing strong vision and leadership with the team, with partners and, above all, with clients. 

  • Interrogating client briefs, using initiative, business acumen and having the confidence to challenge clients where necessary. 

  • Guiding, training and mentoring the junior members of the team, acting as a positive role model at all times. 

  • Ensuring all project management processes, and quality assurance are implemented throughout all projects. 

  • Creating and proactively managing project schedules. 

  • Creating scopes of work and reviewing throughout the project to ensure alignment with client needs. Issuing timely and accurate project documentation such as costing sheets, contact reports, schedules, SoWs, estimates, invoicing schedules, and invoices. 

  • Managing resource effectively against schedules and workloads, ensuring all work is delivered on time. 

  • Ensuring financial processes are followed, and having full commercial responsibility and financial accountability for your accounts. 

  • Creating presentations for new business proposals and being comfortable presenting as part of a team.

  • Developing relationships with clients and actively identifying and pursuing organic growth opportunities to deliver against revenue targets. 

  • Being confident developing and delivering pitches - with a good track record of winning them. 

  • Having a good knowledge of digital – including content creation and development. 

  • Working closely with a Senior Account/Project manager on a Daily basis – on SLA’s and regular client comms – keeping clients up to date on progress and pipeline delivery. 

  • Monitoring project board (Trello/Confluence) and progress of tickets. 

  • Leading client presentations/pitches/kick offs and creative. Being able to create/contribute to presentation decks to support this. 

  • Supporting the Digital Director in leading the client through complex digital projects and directing the consultancy, content, project management, creative and development teams. 

  • Managing client expectations/ambitions and balancing these with the practical business and commercial needs of the agency. 

  • Negotiating sensitively with challenging clients

  • Communicating project requirements clearly to ensure clarity and unity amongst the team. 

  • Weekly status reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Tracking the project actual time and expenses incurred. 

  • Accurate understanding of revenue forecast across all your projects to help the Account Directors accurately complete the financial forecast.  

  • Keeping a close eye on your projects ensuring that you’re aware of all activity and approvals. 

  • Having the ability to juggle multiple projects and manage and prioritise your time. 

  • Quality assurance – Account Managers are responsible for making sure the right resources have reviewed and signed off work before it is sent to the client. 

  • Managing clear client feedback, team comms and implementation. 

  • Obtaining client sign-off on key project deliverables.
